Dark curved marks at the edges of the large scales create the characteristic checker pattern. This small freshwater barb is associated with Sumatra; specialist accounts place its native range in western central parts of the island, with its full extent uncertain.

It is a group fish suited to a carefully planned peaceful aquarium. Adult males are generally slimmer and more colourful than females, but the current offer does not specify sex or promise mature colour at the sale size.
Keep six to ten together with peaceful companions. Provide vegetation or other cover while retaining swimming space. Specialist reference conditions are 18–25°C and pH 5.5–7.5; confirm holding-water values before acclimation. Offer suitably small prepared foods with regular live or frozen invertebrates and watch that all fish feed.
MBI-BAR-011 (2 cm - 2.5 cm): 80 fish per bag; maximum 8 bags per box.
MBI-BAR-011: minimum 80 individual fish. Prices are per individual fish. Existing quotation and business terms govern shipment arrangements.
