This Sumatran betta is a paternal mouthbrooder. Mature males show blue-green sheen on the gill covers and reddish outer bands on the anal and caudal fins. Its forest-swamp habitat includes shaded streams and pools with roots and fallen leaves; the offered stock has no specified collection locality.
Use a covered, gently filtered aquarium with sheltered dim areas and air access above the surface. The specialist temperature guidance is 22-27 C in very soft, acidic water; its quoted pH range describes measured natural waters, rather than a mandatory aquarium target. Offer small live or frozen foods and verify acceptance of prepared feed. Avoid vigorous companions.
