Origin
Reference species: New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Fiji; actual collecting population unspecified.
The original kaaea description records high-gradient streams in New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Reference males combine a blue-purple first dorsal fin with a dark spot on the second dorsal. Caledonian Red Nose is the supplier name for this wild-caught 3-4 cm lot; it does not select sex, a particular stream or uniform display colour.
Obtain measured holding temperature, water chemistry and established foods from the supplier before transfer. Prepare mature filtered housing with secure rocky resting places and circulation suited to the confirmed stream stock. Monitor individual food intake. An amphidromous life cycle includes a marine larval phase; it does not prescribe salt for the offered adult fish.
MBI-GOB-016 (3 cm - 4 cm): 50 fish per bag; maximum 8 bags per box.
Order minimum: MBI-GOB-016: 50 individual fish. Price is per individual fish. Existing quotation and business terms govern shipment arrangements.
