The Grade A Red Lace Guppy (Poecilia reticulatus) is a captivating freshwater fish known for its striking colors and intricate patterns. Originating from the freshwater streams and ponds of Southeast Asia, these guppies have become a popular choice among aquarium enthusiasts due to their vibrant red coloration and lace-like fin structure. Their small size and hardy nature make them an excellent choice for both novice and experienced aquarists.

In terms of appearance, Grade A Red Lace Guppies feature a stunning array of colors, predominantly bright red with delicate lace patterns on their fins. This unique coloration is achieved through selective breeding, making them stand out in any aquarium setup. Female guppies are generally larger than males and possess a more rounded body shape, which is essential for carrying and birthing live young.

Socially, guppies are known for their peaceful behavior, making them ideal for community tanks. They thrive in schools and exhibit fascinating social interactions. In their natural habitat, they prefer densely vegetated areas, where they can find both food and shelter from predators. This environment also provides a breeding ground where females can safely give birth to fry.

The Grade A Red Lace Guppy is not only visually appealing but also plays a role in maintaining the ecological balance in their native habitats by consuming algae and detritus. Their adaptability to various water conditions allows them to thrive in different aquarium environments, making them a favorite among fish keepers worldwide.
To ensure the health and well-being of Grade A Red Lace Guppies, it's crucial to maintain optimal water parameters. The ideal temperature range is between 24-28°C, with a pH level of 6.5 to 7.5. Regular water changes and a well-maintained filtration system are essential for keeping the water quality high. Guppies are omnivorous and thrive on a varied diet, including high-quality flake food, frozen or live food such as brine shrimp, and vegetable matter.

These guppies are compatible with a wide range of other freshwater species; however, it is best to avoid aggressive fish that may harass them. When introducing new guppies to a tank, acclimate them slowly to reduce stress. This can be done by floating the bag in the aquarium for about 15 minutes and gradually mixing tank water into the bag. A quarantine period of at least two weeks is recommended for newly acquired fish to prevent the spread of disease.

In terms of tank size, a minimum of 40 liters is recommended to provide ample swimming space and enable a healthy school dynamic. Ensure the tank is well-planted with plenty of hiding spots to mimic their natural habitat, which will help reduce stress and promote breeding behaviors.
Grade A Red Lace Guppies are well-suited for shipping due to their hardiness. They should be packed in insulated bags with oxygen and minimal water to ensure safe transport. A packing density of 6-8 fish per liter is recommended to minimize stress during transit. These fish are sensitive to temperature fluctuations, so maintaining a stable temperature during shipping is crucial. They are not listed under CITES, making export processes straightforward.
