Gyrinocheilus aymonieri eats algae and small animal foods rather than living on algae alone. It may harass other bottom fish or attach to larger companions. The tank-bred 3-4 cm, 5-6 cm and 15 cm offers share the same species; these sizes are shipping grades rather than adult-size limits.
Specialist guidance is 22-26 C and pH 6.0-8.0. Provide spacious mature accommodation with oxygenated water movement, rocky grazing surfaces and refuges. Supplement grazing with balanced prepared and small live or frozen foods. Monitor aggression as it grows and avoid similarly shaped bottom companions.
