Painted lyretail

Painted Lyretail is the supplier's separately named ornamental Xiphophorus selection. The Lyretail designation keeps it distinct from the Painted Swordtail and Hi-Fin Swordtail codes. The catalogue does not specify a pure-species pedigree, adult tail measurements or the colouring mechanism. The source catalogue records Xiphophorus maculatus. Ornamental Xiphophorus lines have a documented interspecific breeding history, but it does not establish the pedigree of this lot.
