The described contradens differs from similarly spotted Hypancistrus by its spot proportions; hobby labels have historically confused it with inspector. The current accepted name is retained. This tank-bred offer measures 3 cm Body Only, so the grade excludes the tail and does not certify a selected sex or a precise wild breeder population.
