Native to the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific region, particularly around Bali, this species is renowned for its vivid hues of blue, orange, and yellow, which make it a popular choice among aquarium enthusiasts. The Coral Beauty typically reaches a maximum size of about 10 cm, making it suitable for both home aquariums and larger reef setups.

In terms of behavior, Coral Beauties are generally peaceful and can be kept in community tanks with other reef-safe species. They exhibit a curious nature, often darting in and out of hiding spots among the rocks and corals. Their natural habitat consists of coral-rich areas where they graze on algae and small invertebrates, helping to maintain the health of reef ecosystems.

The pH should be kept between 8.1 and 8.4. A minimum tank size of 100 liters is recommended for optimal swimming space and water quality management.

Coral Beauties are omnivorous, requiring a varied diet that includes high-quality flake foods, frozen mysis shrimp, and spirulina. Regular feeding, at least twice a day, helps maintain their vibrant colors and overall health. Compatibility with other species is generally good, but care should be taken when introducing them to aggressive tank mates.

Acclimation is a critical process when introducing Coral Beauties to a new environment. A slow drip acclimation over several hours is recommended to minimize stress. Quarantine for at least two weeks before introducing new fish into the main tank is advisable to prevent potential disease outbreaks. Coral Beauties are well-suited for shipping due to their robust nature. Packing density should be moderate, allowing for sufficient water and oxygen exchange during transport. They are sensitive to temperature changes, so maintaining a stable environment during shipping is essential. This species is not listed under CITES, making export processes more straightforward.
