The pH level should be kept between 8.1 and 8.4 to replicate their natural oceanic environment. A minimum tank size of 200 liters is recommended to provide ample space for swimming and burrowing.

Feeding the Pretty Prawn Goby should consist of a varied diet that includes high-quality marine pellets, frozen or live brine shrimp, and other small crustaceans to ensure they receive necessary nutrients. It is important to feed them multiple small meals throughout the day to simulate their natural foraging behavior.

In terms of compatibility, the Pretty Prawn Goby is best kept with other peaceful species. It is advisable to avoid aggressive tank mates that may stress or harm the goby. Acclimation should be done slowly to minimize stress; floating the bag in the tank for 15-20 minutes and gradually mixing tank water into the bag can help. Quarantine new specimens for at least two weeks before introducing them to the main tank to prevent the spread of disease.

The Pretty Prawn Goby is suitable for shipping, provided they are packed with care to minimize stress. A packing density of 1-2 individuals per liter is recommended to ensure adequate space. Maintain a shipping temperature between 24°C and 26°C to prevent thermal shock. As of now, there are no CITES restrictions for this species, making it a viable option for export.
