Polyps Yellow (Parazoanthus gracillis) is a captivating coral species renowned for its striking yellow coloration and unique polyps that create a stunning visual display in marine aquariums. These corals are found in shallow waters of the Indo-Pacific region, often forming dense colonies that provide an essential habitat for various marine organisms. Their bright hues not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of any aquarium but also contribute to the biodiversity of reef ecosystems.

In terms of appearance, Polyps Yellow exhibits a soft, fleshy structure with numerous extended polyps that can sway gracefully with water movement. The vibrant yellow coloration is attributed to the presence of zooxanthellae, symbiotic algae that live within the coral's tissues, helping to provide energy through photosynthesis. This relationship is crucial for the growth and survival of the coral, allowing it to thrive in its natural habitat.

Behaviorally, Polyps Yellow are generally peaceful and can coexist with various fish and invertebrate species, making them an excellent choice for community tanks. They exhibit a unique feeding behavior by extending their polyps to capture plankton and organic particles from the water column, in addition to relying on the nutrients provided by their symbiotic algae.

Polyps Yellow typically inhabit shallow reef environments, often found on rocky substrates or sandy bottoms where they can anchor themselves securely. They play a vital role in reef ecosystems by providing shelter and food for a myriad of marine life, highlighting their ecological importance beyond just their ornamental value in aquariums.
When caring for Polyps Yellow, maintaining stable water parameters is essential for their health and longevity. Ideal conditions include a temperature range of 24-28°C, salinity between 32-35 ppt, and a pH level of 8.1 to 8.4. Regular testing of water quality is recommended to ensure a stable environment.

Feeding Polyps Yellow typically involves supplementing their diet with planktonic foods and liquid coral foods, especially during the evening when they are most active. While they derive energy from light through their symbiotic algae, additional feeding can promote growth and vibrant coloration. Compatibility-wise, these corals are generally non-aggressive and can be kept alongside a variety of reef-safe fish and invertebrates.

Acclimating Polyps Yellow to a new environment should be done gradually to minimize stress. This can be achieved by floating the bag in the aquarium for about 15-20 minutes before slowly introducing tank water into the bag. Quarantine is also strongly advised for new arrivals to prevent the introduction of pests or diseases into the main tank. A quarantine period of at least two weeks is recommended to observe the corals for any signs of stress or illness before introducing them to a display tank.
Polyps Yellow are suitable for shipping due to their hardy nature, but careful packing is crucial to minimize stress during transit. A density of 1-2 corals per liter is recommended to ensure adequate space and water circulation. Temperature should be maintained between 22-26°C during shipping, as they are sensitive to temperature fluctuations. Currently, Polyps Yellow is not listed under CITES, making them easier to export legally.
