Feeding these cichlids is relatively straightforward; they are omnivorous and thrive on a varied diet. High-quality pellets, frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms, along with some vegetable matter, will provide the necessary nutrients. Regular feeding schedules should be maintained, with a focus on providing a balanced diet.

Compatibility is crucial when housing Jack Dempsey Cichlids, as they can display aggressive behavior. It is best to keep them with similarly sized, robust fish. Acclimation should be done gradually, allowing the fish to adjust to new water conditions over several hours.
