Desmopuntius hexazona is a small freshwater barb native to Malaya, Sumatra and Borneo. Its dark vertical pattern resembles that of the Five-banded Barb, but true hexazona lacks the small dark mark at the rear of the dorsal-fin base. It inhabits peat swamps and associated still or slow waters, often among submerged vegetation.
Maintain a group of at least eight to ten with peaceful, similarly sized companions. Specialist guidance gives 20-26 C and pH 4-7. Provide subdued light, planted shelter and gentle water movement. Offer appropriately sized prepared foods with small live or frozen supplements; confirm batch holding conditions before acclimation.
MBI-BAR-016 (2 cm - 3 cm): 80 fish per bag, maximum 8 bags per box. These are the supplier catalogue packing figures for this offer.
Order minimum: MBI-BAR-016: 200 individual fish. Prices are per individual fish. Existing quotation and business terms govern shipment arrangements.
