Wild Tinfoil Barb

This is the wild-caught tinfoil offer, separate from the tank-bred Golden listing. Natural-form tinfoils typically have a silvery body, red-toned fins and a dark stripe on each tail lobe. These species features do not identify the collection site or guarantee identical colour in every fish.

Adult tinfoils need substantial space: specialist guidance records 35.5 cm standard length, measured without the tail fin. The 8–10 cm sale grade represents a much smaller fish than the published adult size.

Keep a group of at least six in a very large system with ample open swimming space, strong filtration and oxygenation. Fit a secure cover because these fish can jump. Specialist reference conditions are 20–28°C and pH 6.0–8.0; check the batch’s holding water before acclimation. Offer varied foods including vegetable material. Choose robust, suitably large companions and avoid small fish that may be eaten.
