Rosy Barb, Pethia conchonius, is a South Asian freshwater species found in habitats ranging from streams to ponds and lakes. Adults can reach about 10 cm standard length in specialist accounts. Colour varies with sex and maturity, with males usually more colourful. This tank-bred listing retains the two separate small size grades supplied in the catalogue.
Keep eight to ten or more with compatible peaceful fish. Specialist guidance gives 16-24 C and pH 6-8. Provide planted shelter, open swimming room and a varied diet of prepared foods, small live or frozen foods and plant-containing foods. Confirm the breeder's current holding water before acclimation.
