Reference wyckii have a broad depressed head, a grey tail with pale principal rays and a pale shoulder region. They differ from red-tailed relatives; blue eye colour alone is not a reliable diagnostic feature. The 25-30 cm offer remains far below the size and housing demands of a mature fish. Sex and collecting river are unspecified.
Species reference guidance gives 20-27 C and pH 6-8. Plan very large mature filtered accommodation with secure refuges, subdued light and substantial water maintenance. Keep independently unless a suitably large professional installation can manage the risk of attacks on companions. Offer appropriate sinking foods and aquatic animal foods; avoid mammalian meat and protect hands during maintenance.
