The accepted name is Sturisomatichthys panamensis, replacing the supplier spelling Sturisoma panamese. Reference fish are slimmer and have shorter fin extensions than festivus; mature males develop odontodes along the head and snout. These adult comparisons do not certify sex or full fin development at the 3.5-4 cm delivery grade. Breeding lineage is unspecified.
The exact species keeper reference gives 26-29 C and pH 6.5-7.2. Provide mature filtered accommodation with ample resting and swimming space, planting or other shelter, and regular maintenance. Offer a predominantly plant-based ration such as suitable greens and algae wafers, supplemented occasionally with small aquatic animal foods. Avoid aggressive companions and confirm the breeder holding water before transfer.
