Pygmaeus is now placed in Gastrodermus. The ordinary species spends time in midwater and differs from hastatus in its lateral markings, but that ordinary pigment pattern is not assigned to this albino selection. The 1.5-1.8 cm grade leaves sex composition and breeding pedigree unspecified.
For confirmed ordinary pygmaeus, reference guidance gives 22-26 C and pH 6.4-7.4. Keep six or more, preferably ten, with similarly small peaceful companions, subdued light and sheltered planting. Food must fit the tiny mouth: fine prepared foods and small live or frozen items. Confirm the breeder regimen for the albino selection.
