Hoplisoma simile is the accepted name for Corydoras similis. Its bluish rear blotch contrasts with the darker, more sharply defined mark of caudimaculatum. Violet is the supplier trade name; this tank-bred 2.5-2.7 cm offer does not guarantee identical colour intensity, selected sex or a particular breeder lineage.
Species reference guidance gives 21-27 C and pH 5.6-7.0. Keep at least six with peaceful companions. Use clean sand, wood or planted shelter and a mature filtration system. Feed varied sinking pellets or tablets supplemented with small live or frozen foods, checking every fish eats. Confirm the breeder water before transfer.
