This separately coded Blue Rainbowfish offer specifically lists males at 5 cm. The underlying species is the Lake Kutubu rainbowfish, Melanotaenia lacustris. Mature males are generally brighter and deeper-bodied; the catalogue does not promise identical adult blue display at this grade.
The species reference gives 20-25 C and pH 7.0-9.0 in moderately hard water. Use efficient mature filtration, planted margins and open swimming space without strong current. Keep a shoal of at least six to eight and feed varied prepared, live and frozen foods. Confirm measured holding water before transfer.
