Rasbora trilineata

Rasbora trilineata occurs across mainland Southeast Asian river basins and parts of the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo. Its divided tail markings and characteristic movement give rise to the scissortail trade name.

Specialist references describe a fish reaching 15 cm standard length, measured without the tail. Planning must therefore consider adult swimming space rather than just the small export grade. The offered wild stock has no stated collection locality.

Keep at least six together in a spacious, mature aquarium with a tightly fitted cover: this species can jump. Specialist guidance gives 22–25°C; pH depends on origin, with 6.5–7.5 commonly recommended for aquarium care. Provide swimming room, stable clean water and suitably sized dry, live or frozen foods. Confirm actual holding water before arrival.
