Feeding should consist of a varied diet, including high-quality pellets, frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms, and vegetable matter like blanched spinach. This omnivorous diet promotes healthy growth and vibrant coloration. It is advisable to feed them small amounts multiple times a day.

For compatibility, Pyjama Synodontis do well in community tanks with peaceful species. Avoid housing them with overly aggressive fish, as this may lead to stress. Acclimation to a new tank should be done gradually, using the drip method to minimize shock. Quarantine new arrivals for at least two weeks before introducing them to the main tank to prevent the spread of diseases.
