This species thrives in environments with plenty of hiding spots, such as crevices and overhangs, which provide shelter from potential predators. When caring for Rolland's Damsels, maintaining proper water parameters is crucial. Ideal temperature ranges from 24°C to 28°C, with a salinity level of 1.020 to 1.025 ppt. The pH should be kept between 8.1 and 8.4, ensuring optimal health and vitality. A minimum tank size of 100 liters is recommended to provide adequate space for swimming and territory establishment.

Feeding Rolland's Damsels is relatively straightforward, as they are omnivorous. A varied diet including high-quality flakes, pellets, and frozen foods such as brine shrimp and mysis shrimp will keep them healthy. Regular feeding, 2-3 times a day, ensures they receive the nutrients necessary for growth and maintenance.

Compatibility is an important factor to consider; while Rolland's Damsels can coexist with a variety of fish, they may display aggressive behavior towards smaller or similarly-shaped species. It is advisable to introduce them to the tank first or ensure that they are added in pairs or groups to minimize territorial disputes. Acclimation should be done slowly to prevent stress, and a quarantine period of at least two weeks is recommended before introducing them to the main tank to monitor for any potential diseases.

Rolland's Damsels are suitable for shipping due to their hardy nature; however, care must be taken to ensure they are packed securely to minimize movement during transit. Recommended packing density is 1 fish per 2 liters of water, and maintaining a stable temperature of 24-26°C is crucial during shipping. As of now, Rolland's Damsel is not listed under CITES, allowing for easier export compliance.
