To successfully care for Fusilier damselfish, importers and retailers should maintain stable water parameters. The ideal temperature range for this species is between 24°C and 28°C, with a salinity of 1.020 to 1.025 ppt. The pH should be kept between 8.1 and 8.4 to mimic their natural reef environment. A minimum tank size of 100 liters is recommended to allow for swimming space and social interaction, as these fish are best kept in groups.

Feeding Fusilier damselfish is relatively straightforward, as they are omnivorous. A varied diet consisting of high-quality marine flakes, pellets, and frozen foods such as brine shrimp and mysis shrimp will ensure their nutritional needs are met. It is important to observe their feeding habits, as they can be competitive eaters, especially in community tanks.

When introducing Fusilier damselfish to a new aquarium, acclimation should be done gradually to reduce stress. This species is not listed under CITES, which simplifies export procedures, but compliance with local regulations is essential.
