Characterized by its distinctive markings resembling a Hawaiian lei, the color of these markings can shift from vivid yellow to deep brown or black, depending on the fish's mood, making it a captivating addition to any aquarium.

A minimum tank size of 200 liters is recommended to provide ample swimming space and territory.

Feeding the Undulate Triggerfish is relatively straightforward, as it is predominantly carnivorous. A diet consisting of high-quality marine pellets, frozen or live foods such as shrimp, mussels, and other seafood will ensure optimal health. It is crucial to provide a varied diet to prevent nutritional deficiencies and promote vibrant coloration.

When introducing this species to a new environment, acclimation should be done slowly to avoid stress. Quarantine for at least two weeks is recommended to monitor for any signs of disease or parasites. In terms of compatibility, the Undulate Triggerfish can be semi-aggressive and may not be suitable for smaller or more docile tank mates. Careful consideration should be given when selecting tank mates to ensure a harmonious aquarium environment.

The Undulate Triggerfish is suitable for shipping, but care must be taken to ensure it is packed securely to minimize stress during transport. A packing density of 1-2 fish per liter is recommended to allow for movement and oxygen exchange. Temperature sensitivity is a concern; therefore, it is essential to maintain a stable temperature between 24-28°C during shipping. This species is not listed under CITES, making exportation easier.
