The Ringed Wrasse (Hologymnosus doliatus) is a striking marine fish native to the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific region. A pH range of 8.1 to 8.4 is recommended to replicate their natural habitat. A minimum tank size of 200 liters is advisable to provide ample swimming space and hiding spots.

Feeding the Ringed Wrasse involves a varied diet that includes high-quality pellets, frozen foods, and live prey such as brine shrimp and small crustaceans. This species is carnivorous, requiring a protein-rich diet to thrive. Compatibility with other marine species is generally good, but care should be taken when introducing them to a community tank, as they may exhibit territorial behavior, especially towards similar-looking species.

Acclimation should be done slowly to minimize stress; a drip acclimation method is recommended. Quarantine new arrivals for at least two weeks to monitor for any signs of illness and to prevent the introduction of pathogens into the main tank. Regular monitoring of water quality and proper feeding will help maintain a healthy environment for the Ringed Wrasse.

The Ringed Wrasse is suitable for shipping, provided that appropriate care is taken during the process. Packing density should allow for adequate space and oxygen exchange, with a maximum of 2-3 individuals per bag depending on size. It is important to maintain a stable temperature during transit, ideally between 24°C and 27°C, to minimize stress. This species is not listed under CITES, which simplifies the export process.
