The 2008 revision distinguishes nominal galaxias by its large eye and short snout, with colour varying among populations. Similar woodcats have historically been sold under the same trade label, so the name alone does not certify a precise Orinoco breeder population or an identical spotted appearance. This tank-bred 3-5 cm lot leaves sex composition unspecified.
For verified galaxias, specialist reference guidance gives 21-24 C and pH 6.5-7.2. Provide a secure lid and sheltered wood crevices or small pipes, and monitor intake of suitably sized sinking or frozen foods near the refuges. Avoid housing with vulnerable fry. Confirm the breeder identification and holding water before applying nominal species targets.
