Sturisoma barbatum is the accepted reference name, with mature males developing cheek and head bristles. Its brownish body and dark marks along fin rays are nominal features rather than a guaranteed mature pattern at the 3.5-4 cm delivery grade. The fish can be visible by day; this tank-bred offer does not specify breeder lineage or selected sex.
The original keeper reference gives 22-24 C and pH 6.5-7.2. Provide mature clean water, circulation and oxygenation, broad smooth stones or roots for resting, and sufficient adult space. Avoid fin-nipping companions. Offer appropriate greens and sinking foods, with occasional small animal foods, and check feeding access. Confirm the breeder holding regimen before transfer.
