This species was previously classified under the genus Heterobagrus before being reassigned to Mystus, reflecting its unique biological characteristics. The Mystus Albino is a demersal fish, meaning it primarily resides near the bottom of rivers, showcasing its adaptability to various freshwater environments.

Physically, the Mystus Albino is distinguished by its pale, almost translucent body, which can vary in hue from white to a pale pink. Its elongated body is complemented by long barbels that aid in foraging along river beds. Adult Mystus Albino can reach an impressive maximum size of around 30 cm, making it a notable presence in any aquarium setting. This species tends to exhibit a calm demeanor, but like many catfish, it can display occasional territorial behavior, particularly during breeding.

Regular water quality checks are essential to ensure a stable environment, as fluctuations can stress the fish. A minimum tank size of 150 liters is recommended for this species to provide ample swimming space and hiding spots.

Feeding Mystus Albino is relatively straightforward, as they are carnivorous and enjoy a varied diet. High-quality sinking pellets, live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, and small shrimp will help ensure they receive the necessary nutrition. It is advisable to feed them multiple small meals throughout the day rather than one large feeding to mimic their natural foraging behavior.
