The species takes mouthfuls of sand to separate edible invertebrates, and females brood developing young in the mouth. Its natural habitat includes shallow sandy areas near rocks. Captive males can compete fiercely; shelter and floor space are central to a suitable group arrangement. The offered grade does not establish sex or a bonded breeding group.
Species guidance gives 24-27 C and pH 7.8-9.5 in hard water. Provide mature filtered accommodation with substantial open sand and separate rock refuges. Ensure accepted live or frozen foods reach the substrate. Plan adult territories, monitor competition and keep several females per male where sex is confirmed; confirm breeder conditions before transfer.
MBI-CIC-021 (2.5 cm): 1 fish per bag; maximum 200 bags per box.
MBI-CIC-021: minimum 50 individual fish. Prices are per individual fish. Existing quotation and business terms govern shipment arrangements.
