Current classification recognises Hoplisoma oiapoquense, formerly Corydoras oiapoquensis. Its similar river companion, Brochis condiscipulus, has a longer snout. The species is associated with the Oyapock basin in Brazil and French Guiana; this tank-bred 2.5-2.7 cm offer does not specify a wild collection population or selected sex.
Species reference guidance gives 23-28 C and pH 6.0-7.2. Maintain at least six with peaceful companions, clean fine sand, wood or smooth rock cover and good oxygenation. Offer varied sinking foods and small live or frozen items. Confirm receiving water and food acceptance with the breeder; avoid large aggressive competitors.
