Caridina cantonensis, commonly known as the Dark Ghost Shrimp, is a captivating species of small freshwater shrimp that hails from the lush waters of Taiwan. Feeding Dark Ghost Shrimp is straightforward, as they are omnivorous scavengers. A varied diet of high-quality shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables, and algae wafers will keep them healthy and active. It is important to ensure that food particles are small enough for them to consume easily.

Compatibility is generally high, as these shrimp do well with other peaceful species. However, avoid housing them with larger or aggressive fish that may see them as food. Acclimation should be done slowly to minimize stress; floating the bag in the aquarium for about 30 minutes before releasing them is recommended.
