When it comes to feeding, they are omnivorous and should be provided with a varied diet that includes high-quality koi pellets, fresh vegetables, and occasional protein sources like bloodworms.

Compatibility is another significant aspect of keeping Asagi Koi. These fish are generally peaceful and can coexist with other non-aggressive species. However, care should be taken to avoid housing them with overly aggressive fish that may stress them. Acclimation is essential when introducing new Koi to an aquarium; a slow acclimation process over a few hours will help reduce shock and stress.

Currently, Asagi Koi are not listed under CITES, allowing for straightforward export practices.
