The low body and broad paired fins suit movement close to solid surfaces. Current taxonomy recognises Homaloptera ocellata from Sumatra and Java. The supplier offers wild-caught fish in a 5-9 cm grade; that ordering measurement is separate from the species reference maximum of 14.5 cm total length. The exact collecting river and sex composition are unspecified.
