Reference fish have irregular dark patches, including a prominent saddle near the dorsal fin. The species can perch on vegetation and woody surfaces and is not restricted to bare torrent rocks. The supplier name ogilvie corresponds to the accepted spelling ogilviei. Its 5-9 cm shipping grade is retained as supplied; the specialist reference of about 5 cm standard length excludes the tail and is not presented as a measured total-length ceiling for this lot.
Species reference guidance is 20-25.5 C and pH 6.0-7.5. Use a mature aquarium with clean, well-oxygenated water, secure cover and several sheltered resting places. Confirm the supplier holding water and feeding response before transfer, and provide food where bottom-dwelling fish can reach it without competition. Include roots, stones and suitable plants, with quieter refuges as well as circulation. Specialist guidance recommends six or more conspecifics where space and feeding access permit. Offer small live or frozen invertebrate foods alongside suitable sinking foods; check that each fish is feeding.
