Luciocephalus pulcher, commonly known as the Giant Pikehead, is a fascinating species of gourami found in the freshwater habitats of the Malaya Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo. This species is distinguished by its elongated body, which can reach lengths of up to 20 centimeters (7.9 inches). Its coloration features a yellowish-brown base adorned with dark brown longitudinal bands and stripes, providing it with excellent camouflage among aquatic vegetation and substrates in its natural environment.

A diet consisting of high-quality pellets, live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, and small fish will keep it healthy and thriving.
