The Red Rainbow, scientifically known as Glossolepis incisus, is a stunning freshwater fish native to the lakes and rivers of Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, particularly around Bali. This species is renowned for its vibrant coloration, which features a brilliant red-orange hue on its body that becomes particularly pronounced during breeding. A well-cycled tank of at least 100 liters is recommended to provide ample swimming space and stable water parameters.

Feeding Red Rainbows is straightforward, as they are omnivorous. A varied diet consisting of high-quality flake food, pellets, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and daphnia will promote vibrant colors and overall health. Regular feeding 2-3 times a day is ideal.

In terms of compatibility, these fish are peaceful and do well in community tanks with other non-aggressive species. Avoid housing them with larger, predatory fish that may see them as food. When introducing new specimens, acclimation is crucial; use a drip acclimation method over a period of 2-3 hours to minimize stress.
