To ensure the health and longevity of Fusilier Damsels, maintaining optimal water parameters is crucial. They thrive in temperatures ranging from 24°C to 28°C, with a salinity level between 1.020 and 1.025 ppt. A pH level of 8.1 to 8.4 is ideal for this species. It’s recommended to have a minimum tank size of 100 liters to accommodate their active nature and schooling behavior.

Feeding Fusilier Damsels is straightforward; they are omnivorous and should be provided with a varied diet that includes high-quality flake foods, frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp or mysis shrimp, and algae-based products. This will ensure they receive the essential nutrients needed for optimal health.

In terms of compatibility, Fusilier Damsels can coexist with a variety of tank mates, but caution should be taken when introducing them to more aggressive species. Acclimation should be done slowly to minimize stress, ideally using the drip method over a period of several hours. Quarantine new arrivals for at least two weeks to monitor for any signs of disease before introducing them into a display tank.

Fusilier Damsels are suitable for shipping due to their hardy nature. When packing, a density of 1-2 fish per liter is recommended to ensure ample space during transit. Temperatures should be maintained between 22°C and 26°C during shipping to prevent stress. This species is not listed under CITES, making export procedures relatively straightforward.
