Feeding a Pallid Basslet requires a diet rich in protein. Small live or frozen foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood are excellent choices. Compatibility-wise, they can be housed with other peaceful reef fish, but caution should be taken with aggressive species that may outcompete them for food or space.

The Pallid Basslet is suitable for shipping due to its hardy nature, but special care should be taken during transit. A packing density of 1 fish per 2 liters is recommended to ensure comfort. Maintain a temperature range of 22°C to 26°C during shipping to prevent stress. This species is not listed under CITES, simplifying export procedures.
