Origin
Reference species: Barito River drainage, southern Borneo; exact offered locality unspecified.
A broad flattened head, long slender tail stalk and low adipose ridge give this species its unusual profile. Reference fish have a dark brown upper body with lighter spots and banded fins. The species is documented from the Barito drainage. The 7-11 cm offered grade and wild-caught supply do not establish a particular collecting tributary or stock sex.
Prepare stable, mature filtered accommodation, confirm the supplier measured holding water and accepted foods, and monitor condition and feeding after transfer. Provide suitable bottom shelters and feeding access without competition. Provide secure woody and bottom refuges appropriate to the recorded flowing-river habitat, with adequate filtration and oxygenation. Confirm the diet of this lot and measured holding regime; published habitat records do not establish a numerical aquarium range. Account for the serrated pectoral spines when planning transfer.
