Glossamia aprion lives around sheltered shallow margins in still or gently flowing freshwater. It hunts insects, crustaceans and small fish, and males brood eggs in the mouth. The name currently covers a species complex; this wild 4-7 cm lot has no stated collecting population or guaranteed breeding pair.
Give sheltered mature accommodation and companions too large to be swallowed. The original industry guide suggests 22-24 C and pH 7.0-7.5; confirm the wild holding water of the lot before transfer. Confirm the foods already accepted by the lot and monitor individual feeding, especially during settlement.
