Mantis shrimps are also famous for their specialized raptorial claws, which they use to hunt prey with astonishing speed and force, capable of breaking glass aquariums.

In terms of appearance, the Peacock Mantis Shrimp is characterized by its vibrant colors, which can range from bright greens and blues to shades of red and yellow. These colors serve not only as a form of communication but also as camouflage among the coral and rocky substrates of their natural habitat. The body is elongated, with a carapace that can reach up to 18 cm in length, and their eyes are mounted on stalks, giving them a unique and striking look.

A minimum tank size of 75 liters is recommended to provide ample space for swimming and burrowing.

Feeding a balanced diet is crucial for their well-being. They are carnivores and should be offered a variety of meaty foods, including shrimp, fish, and high-quality pellets designed for carnivorous marine species. It’s important to feed them in moderation to prevent overfeeding and maintain water quality.
