The supplier scientific name contains spelling errors; the published species is Mastacembelus notophthalmus. A recent field study records a dark eye bar and a body pattern without the continuous net-like design of some other spiny eels. Its Malaysian and Indonesian reference range includes Bangka, but the collecting locality of this lot is unspecified.
Confirm measured holding water and the established diet before arrival. Prepare mature filtered adult accommodation with shelter and a secure lid.
