Adult Longnose Hawkfish can reach a maximum length of up to 10 cm, showcasing their vibrant appearance as they perch on coral branches or rocky substrates, often in pairs or small groups.

They thrive in temperatures ranging from 24°C to 28°C, with a salinity level of 1.020 to 1.025 ppt. The pH should be kept between 8.1 and 8.4 to simulate their natural reef environment. A minimum tank size of 200 liters is recommended to allow for adequate swimming space and territorial behavior.

Feeding Longnose Hawkfish requires a diet rich in protein. They are carnivorous and should be offered a variety of foods, including high-quality frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and small crustaceans. Regular feeding, at least once or twice a day, is essential to maintain their health and vibrant coloration.

In terms of compatibility, Longnose Hawkfish can be kept with other reef-safe species but may exhibit territorial behavior towards similar-looking fish. Acclimation should be done slowly, allowing the fish to adjust to their new environment gradually. Temperature sensitivity is moderate; maintaining temperatures between 24°C and 28°C during transit is crucial for their survival. As of now, they are not listed under CITES, simplifying export regulations.
